should read:
"Proving that John never set both feet in a military library"
That must be how he got his diaphonous A&P. For the brightest apprintice that is two years and John is hardly bright or they wouldn't have made him crew chief which was nothing more than paperwork.
You might want to lookup the definition of diaphanous. Besides your
wrong spelling, diaphanous has nothing to do with working on
airplanes. At best, it might refer to the thickness of the paper the
A&P certificate was printed on.
