The big ones in the hidden valleys behind my folks place, are quiet but
your some distance from the moving parts, if get close to the fence is a
low quiet rumble.
The large windmill I stood directly beneath, along a deserted western U.S. highway, produced a barely audible transmission gear noise. Nothing else.
