But since you mention it, our neighbor Mexico incorporated the measures often advocated here. One firearm only, single shot only, rimfire only. A citizen needs a permit which is complex and expensive and is issued after a background check for prior criminality and assurance of good moral character. Permit in hand, the citizen is then allowed to buy a firearm at the nation's only outlet, a State owned facility inside a large military base. Assuming we all lose our minds and repeal the 2d Amendment, would all that prevent firearm violence?
