Speaking of CG height, I've been very pleased at how the EV handles curves. On the nearby freeway exit ramp, it feels better at higher speed than the previous Mazda 3, which was no slouch and had a much lower roofline. I suspect the big heavy battery below the floor pan lowers the EV's CG and reduces body roll.

 Not as nice these days since Michelin discontinued VR rated 185/80R13 along with all 13" tires.  Those were exceptional.

My buddy with a near-identical car went with (early) radials. I chose a bias ply, I forget which brand, that had supposedly tested to higher cornering speed and was wider. I used a size wider in the rear than in the front. And I still had to flatten the bodywork lip just inside the front wheel well.
