 Guns are a pretty popular thing in the USA, and the laws are loosening
up to accommodate them (us). There's really not very many loonies who
are afraid of having a gun their home.

 Poland Ohio looks to be a predominately conservative leaning
community. I wonder how many Poland residents own guns. I wonder how
many of Krygowski's bike club members own one. I wonder how many carry
one on their group rides. There are many that would easily fit in a
handlebar bag.  Knowing his fear of guns, they probably wouldn't tell
him, and if they did, he wouldn't admit it here.
 

I've seen those numbers and assume that some significant number of firearm owners would not willingly volunteer that information when asked.
