Zen's employer apparently disagrees strongly with your claim. I think that matters WAY more than your opinion.

Related: Back maybe 15 years ago, one guy who used to be on this group was offended that I posted during working hours. He threatened to email my dean to snitch on me - as if the dean would be the least bit bothered.
The dean knew plenty about my work, and was happy enough to endorse my promotion to full professor. But even he probably didn't know about the hours I spent working at home, often until early morning hours.
Tom seems to have a very, very simplistic view of a person's employment. His view seems more appropriate for a person installing toaster parts on a moving production line, where an unscheduled break causes expensive production losses. Maybe that's really the only type of work experience Tom really had.
