It doesn't matter because yuu've told us that "what's the use of having money if you don't throw it away"?

I did? Where did I write that? What's this penchant you have for lying
about things other people have written?

You think that everyone here didn't see you write words to that effect?

I'm sure no one here saw me write anything even remotely similar to that.

It sure must make you feel good to be a dipshit.

I dunno, you tell me how it feels to be a dipshit.
Until I met you, toop cowardly to publish under your own name, Krygowski who claims to be an engineer because he assigns homeowrk to student from books written by real engineers and Libermann who knew more going into college than he gor in college, I had little idea of what it was like to be a dipshit other than observing my NCOIC of the shop I was in. His assistant NCOIC was one of the better people in the world. He always knew what he was talking about and what he didn't know. If he didn't know he would ask questions and try to learn. And he was bright enough to understand.
Too bad you never learned from that experience.
You tell us that because your company builds a SONET device you know abwsolutely what people out in the field call them.
yup,
You are Bozo the Clown. Actually Bozo is ten time smarter than you. He is trying to be funny and you think that you're imparting wisdom.
The only clownshow we see here is emanating from your IP address.
You no doubt know NOTHING at all about SONET since the multiplexer/demultiplexer is all contained in a single chip made by various manufacturers that are not pin compatible locking in their market.
1) The fact that various manufacturers have monolithic solutions these days have no bearing on my knowledge of SONET.
2) These days Monolithic solutions are widely available. It wasn't true in 1992 when HP hired me.
3) SONET chipsets were not called multiplexer/demultiplexer, they are called Segmentation And Reassembly or SAR chipsets - again, now widely available in monolithic form. Here's a little primer for you, granted from 1997 which is during the period I was working on the stuff:
https://www.lightwaveonline.com/network-design/packet-transport/article/16652743/segmentation-and-reassembly-devices-upgrade-atm-sonet-networksYou'll note the terms multiplexer, demultiplexer, or even modem do not appear. You do know the derivation of 'modem'?
Go ahead and impress me with your knowledge of how SONET works and the many available speeds.
Gee tommy, can you tell me what the fundamental SONET data rate is? What's the transition point between DS and SONET protocols? Why aren't they the same? Can you explain why OC network data rates are all factors of 4X over the base? Can you impress me with an explanation of why a concatenated OC channel is required for Asynchronous Transfer Mode?
Or maybe you think you can do your little dance on the hardware side?
Can you explain the difference between light/dark ratio and signal/noise ratio? What are the implications of mixing multimode and single mode O/E or E/O transducers? OR why was it necessary in the early days of (what was then) high-speed data transfer to mix ECL with TTL which assembling data streams?
You see dumbass, Based on what you've written so far, it would be rather simple to impress you with any form of electronic technological discussion. But, as usual, when faced with facts and knowledgeable insight you'll resort to insults and threats of violence.
I have ten years in the development, manufacture, and application of SONET test systems. You have a weak understand of basic electronics. Give it up.
Give up, you're only embarrassing yourself further.
