Had inversion in wales over Christmas so one had choice within reason, as
was lovely and sunny at 1000ft or so and above but deep fog/clouds below
that.

Made for quite spectacular views as the hills looked like islands and so
on, sadly the cafe I’d chosen was in the fog in the local market town.
