That doesn't really work.  The presidential election is decided by the
electoral college, not the popular vote.  Swaying the GUM (great
unwashed masses) might work in a state that bases its electoral
college vote on its popular vote.  However, the real action is in the
"swing" states, where the electoral vote might be almost equally
divided between two candidates and where "swinging" the vote will give
one candidate ALL the electoral votes for that state.

IMO, the winners in most competive events are decided by who can best
bend the rules without breaking them and getting caught. It'd be
interesting if in Formula One racing, the drivers for each car was
chosen by random the list of drivers. I suspect that the results
wouldn't vary too much from the actual results.

bite.
Say marathon running, for example, or pole vaulting, (:-) or even a
spelling bee,  no online stuff, just stand up in front of everyone and
show them how to do it (:-)

A woman I dated a few times during one of my unmarried periods was a
sprinter. She told me that her college coach had sound and video of
track and field referees starting sequence so they could practice
timing their start for the starting ref at the upcoming event.
