I did another 28 mile ride About half way to the coffee stop I was passed by about 20 cyclists going the opposite way. I was going along pretty good considering my foot had hurt all night.
I put a set of cleats on my new Giro shoes abd they fit my feet well enough that they didn't hurt. I'd been wearing the 2nd from the top Sidi's and they simply don't work. My feet are a wpeciual case since I'm missing the large toe on my left foot. I do have a set of Sidi Genius 6's but I'm saving those for summer and dry streets.
I've sto;; got a lpt pf Jamuary left and already I have 285 miles and 9,000 feet of climbing. So with any luck I should get better than last yaers 4,3000 miles and 90,000 feet of climbing.
On the way to the coffee shop I was riding mostly around 14 mph and on the way back mostly 16 mph but the average speed remained at 8 mph. It doesn't take much waiting at stop lights to knock an average speed down. I will be curious to see my average speed out to and back from Moraga after Redwood Road is repaired.
Which reminds me - repairs have been announced but looking at Google Earth it STILL, after two years, doesn't even show the large hole where the road used to be. And in case it has been repaired - there is no sign of new asphalt on the road on Google Eqrth/
Not long ago I looked at Google Earth for Cull Canyon and it had an old photo and then two weeks later they finally updated that section and finally showed a house that Twisted Vine Winery has been building on their property all year.

I'm sorry, I lost my line of thought. On the return from the coffee shop I passed four Catrike's going in the opposite direction at a moderate pace. Then about a quarter mile hack a fifth one obviouslu in catch-up mode. I aloso ytook a "long-cut" to pass by the Abbpott South loop location and they have bought another building. and it has a large parking lot. Why would they do that unless they were getting s tax subsidy to stay in California while everyone else is running away?

Trikes are getting more popular all the time. It used to be very rare
that I same them on the Suncoast. Yesterday I saw five. It was
Saturday and unusually busy, that was rare. Unfortunately, two of them
were electric.
