Got the rebuild lever in from Canada, Removed the reel out of it and
installed it in the 12 speed lever. I won't put om the cables untill the
cassette and Record rear detailleur arrive next Monday to Friday. I
installed a Campy freehub on thr carbon wheels. I carefully measured the
shift cable end and it is 3.71 mm.
In the process of all of this I discovered a complete set of Shimano 10
speed GRX hydraulic disk shift group which I will install on the DeRosa
Idol that comes in today. I will have to get some Shimano flat mount disk
actuators, and an expensive set of custome made wheels for the very wide
spacing and 12 mm axles.
Discovered where? Would GRX not be more appropriate on a Gravel or even CX
frame?
I will sell off the Moser M20 and the Colnago Dream HP and try to move
the Specialized Allez with the 11 speed Campy group on it. Thiz will give
me room. I will end up with the Basso Loto, the Merack and the Idol. I
need yo get the Fondriest steering correctly and sell that off as well.
Moving all of these large bikes means going back to Ebay.
For the life of me I cannot understand why the Allez has not gone
already. It is a VERY nice riding bike. There are very few marks on it
and they aren't obvious.
I can only assume that people would rather buy a new low end bike rather
than a used midrange bike.
Some folks do like the new than 2nd hand most of my bikes have been new,
which to an extent was perhaps a bit silly.
My balance is improving and I am nearly back to normal. I have 5 more
days of rain to return to normal.
Fit that GRX to an appropriate bike and enjoy the slop! Which is what I did
yesterday just shy of a 60 mile loop I did make one navigation error in
that I was passing though some of the military areas, i misremembered where
the trail ran, I though it was outside of the fence, but clearly wasn’t and
the red flag was up so in use no go!
Did take a fair bit of cleaning last night when I got home, puncture seems
to have sealed though is quite a old tyre now, and is showing a number or
war wounds plus wear so just have to see.
Seems to be holding I’ll probably give it a test roll Monday and see how
that goes!
