No disagreement in aggregate. Overall odds are minuscule. Which is why no one here ever advocated universal 24x7 defensive carry for everyone. I mentioned earlier that although I habitually carried in certain areas years ago, I have not found the need in twenty years. As always YMMV.
That said, situational frequency varies greatly. I'm reasonable certain no city refuse collector successfully shot his way out of an armed robbery in Poland Ohio. Ever.
