All three kenda links return "internal server error" for online
purchases, dealer links just point to bike shops - some of which are
closed (in this area)

All three work for me, after I fixed the line wrap. The original
Kendra links from Andrew don't have any line wrapping, so they work as
expected.

No, the links as posted above work fine. It's when you click the
selection for online purchases that you get the internal server error.
Ok. I'll try the first URL. I'm using Windoze 10, Firefox 135.0 with
no ad blocker extensions beyond what Firefox provides. I normally use
the ClearURLs extension to remove tracking data from posted URL's.
<https://docs.clearurls.xyz>
I test the Kendra Tire sites with the extension turn on and off. Both
settings worked as expected.
I click on "Buy Online" button which opens:
<https://shop.kendatire.com/products/regolith-pro-sct>
There's pull down list showing a substantial list of sizes. A few are
grayed out, indicating that they're not available, but most are dark
black, indicating that they's available for ordering.
When I click on "Add to Cart" button, which opens the "Cart" and shows
the item for $74.95. Clicking the "-" sign emptied the cart.
Under "Tracking Content" (under the shield on the URL bar) Firefox
shows about 15(?) tracking sites that are allowed to spy on the order.
None are marked as being blocked, which might prevent displaying the
web page. Looks like the web site sends everything to Facebook.
The domain validation certificate from Google Trust Services is active
and expires on Mar 9, 2025. I also checked Edge 132.0.2957.140 and
Chrome 133.0.6943.54 which both work. I have yet to see an "internal
server error" message. I would say that everything is working as
expected. I could try actually ordering something, but I don't think
that's needed since the "internal server error" message seems to
appear before a purchase can be made.
Want to run some tests and work through this (via email please)?
Interesting,
Today it's working.
Must be a quantum server. It only produces expected results when
you're not looking at it.
Maybe I just happened to catch it during an update or something.
That's possible. Welcome to the cloud. Most ecommerce web sites are
distributed among a large number of virtual servers also known as the
cloud. You have no control as to which server you're using, even by
IP address. Kendra Tires doesn't need to own the entire server. They
rent some amount of bandwidth, storage space, applications, and backup
services. If the web site could easily be distributed among different
servers in multiple countries. If a virtual server goes down, the
load balancer switches to another virtual server and things continue
without (much) interruption. Generally, maintenance is done when the
virtual or physical server is taken offline. The first step in taking
it offline is to block new users from accessing the server and display
a "go away" message, such as "internal server error, try again later".
If something big goes down, then you may be able to see what was
affected on one of the "internet weather map" sites:
<
https://www.internetweathermap.com/map>
<
https://www.thousandeyes.com/outages/>
<
https://downdetector.com>
<
https://www.pingdom.com/outages/>
<
https://www.att.com/outages/>
<
https://status.cloud.google.com/maps-platform/>
(etc)
I can't tell from here what type of failure occurred.
Anyway, rejoyce. It's fixed.
