I?d guess misadventure but since he?s not been formally identified let
alone cause of death established?

Well, he's been identified:

I hate Spanish. No signs of trauma were found by the coroner,
so it was considered "natural death". But the body was quite
decomposed...

Enough trauma to kill a person would show in an autopsy performed by any competent coroner. Now if you want to argue the competency of the ME, that is another subject. Stop talking about things you don't know anything about.

I have been a "medico legista", moron. (A coroner).
A knife wound through an artery would NOT appear at autopsy,
Asfixia with a plastic bag, ditto, or even strangulation as long as
the hyoid bone was not fractured.
The body had been decomposing for 24 days when it was found.
Insect and rodent activity + decomp would have covered up most signs
of foul play.
Not all trauma breaks bones...
