Alas, the set has serious problems. The problem is the oversize chain
ring guard, which has to go. I had to raise the front shifter so that
it would clear the guard and that created problems with the 28 tooth
ring. I've given up trying to find a setup where the shifting works
smoothly for all three rings. I got it to shift to and from the 28
tooth, but it rattles and clanks. I don't plan on using the 28 much,
but I want it to work right. I may swap the chain ring guard off the
old cranks and I finally found a decent guard for sale on Ebay to use
on either one. More dirty fingers tomorrow.

I removed that new 175mm cranks and dismantled it and my old 165mm
crank. The new crank got the chain guard and the 30T from the old
crank. The 28T ring was overkill and the old 30T had hardly been used
although it has over 40,000 miles. Flat florida bike trails.

I put the new crank back on the bike, but didn't work on the
derailleur. I had to come in, clean up, and make dinner. Chicken
Fettuccine Alfredo... Yummy. Enough leftovers for tomorrow,

I'm hoping that moving the derailleur back to where it belongs will
remedy the problems. If not, I may have to get a spacer washer to put
between the crank and the stopper ring on the BB to make it work
right. The derailleur's hinge contacted the frame on the previous
installation.
There's no way I can make my old front derailleur work with the new
crank. The space between the rails are simply too wide. I can make it
shift up really nice, or I can make it down shift nice, but not with
the same setting. I never had any trouble setting it up the old crank.
I ordered a new derailleur. In the mean time I'll just clank and bang
when I shift.
