 Frank! For Christ's sake do you ever listen to yourself? What you just said is that if MORE people in another practice get MORE TBI's then those on a bicycle aren't worthy of discussion!

I said nothing about "worthy of discussion." What I have said in the past is there is far too much fear mongering regarding bicycling. John just did that, quoting a large-sounding number of bicycling injuries, apparently because he thought it was unusually scary.
You can't tell if it's unusually scary unless you compare it with other similar numbers. I've done that here many times. Bicycling is NOT an unusual risk for brain injuries, and it's dishonest to claim that it is. The helmet mania is a scam, and it's harmful to bicycling and to society.
