That isn’t of its self a problem! At least in terms of getting a drink/food
long conversation might be tricky though surprising or not how much chat
one can have despite lack of a shared language!
About a month ago we were checking into a hotel at the edge of a national park at the same time a German couple was arriving. I welcomed them to America.
After leaving for a while to see some sights, we got a table at the hotel's restaurant. When the German couple entered, I invited them to eat dinner with us. My German language knowledge is zero. Their English was halting at best. But we enjoyed an hour of interesting conversation, with lots of reference to translation apps on our phones.
Today's technology makes that much easier than it used to be.
