I experimented with using PVC slip joint connections that are greased
for easy rotation, but held together tight with 1/8" wire rope. I'm
giving thought to drilling, tapping and inserting grease zerks if they
get hard to turn as they get older, but past experience tells me that
the joints get looser the more they're used.
