Homosexuality is not the issue. The issue is men in women's athletics,
rest rooms, and locker rooms. The fact that it doesn't happen every
day, doesn't mean that it's not an issue.
Everything is an issue for people sufficiently primed to outrage. There's no thought given to the frequency of incidents, or the number in context. One incident of unsportsmanlike behavior by a trans athlete is horrifying and outrageous - out of probably millions of similar incidents involving non-trans people.
Again, people are being played. Note how quickly a valid discussion of economics evaporated so Mr. Tricycle could yell "TRANS! TRANS! TRANS!"
Why is "women in mens rest room" not an issue? I personally have to put up with women in mens rest room at least once a year when the women's line to the rest room has a 15 minute wait and the mens line to the rest room is empty.
Cultures differ. We were once traveling in France and stopped at a Tourist Info station in a tiny town so I could pee. I was facing a wall in a sort of hallway, using one of the men's urinals mounted in a row there. Meanwhile, women were walking down the hallway to their restroom, passed right behind me and other men.
I can imagine how horrified Mr. Tricycle would have been!
Women, who partially disrobe unlike us, see the reverse problem differently.
