Post your rides on Strava. Otherwise, I don't believe you.

If you're looking for Tom's Strava link, this is what's left of them:

Neither account has any data or details in it.

However, you will be disappointed. I haven't been riding a bicycle
since about 2018(?) due to back pain problems. I also didn't ride
competitively. Mostly, it was short rides around the Santa Cruz area.

Everything I've recorded on Strava was either a walk or a hike in a
local park. No bicycle involved. My cardiologist demanded that I do
exercise walks at least 4 times per week. I couldn't do that, so I
only did one walk. I walk or hike with or 2 or 3 friends,
unfortunately at the rate of the slowest. I may need to make some
changes as I'm definitely not getting enough exercise by walking.
(Note: I'm 77.5 years old and am doing well enough for my age).

Tom began posting his rides on Strava in about mid 2022(?) at the
request of Lou Holtman, a competent engineer. I subscribed to the
free version of Strava to see how it works, learn how to use Strava,
and keep an eye out for Tom. Despite claiming to have 15(?) bicycles,
Tom never bothered to post which bicycle he was riding on Strava. If
Tom had switched bicycles, some of the amazing and questionable
numbers seem to have been the result of speed sensor calibration
errors.

Tom's Strava postings continued for a few months. (I can research the
exact dates if someone wants to know). At some point, Lou Holtman
announced that he was leaving rec.bicycles.tech. At approximately the
same time, Tom deleted his data and wiped all the data from his Strava
account. I don't recall which event came first.
I have a free Strava account that my Garmin account passes my data to,
but I seldom look at it. I get more data with Garmin Connect and I can
download it and save it in my own database.

The only real issue I have with Strave is that it record virtual ride mileage the same as riding outside. I don't count riding indoors directly as mileage even though it is a great work out. Miles count on the bike when outside moving forward.
I am long past KOM type of things at my age but frankly I am a Local Legend on many segments given I ride higher mileage than most. As far as bragging, well this is easy. Even a little as 3 years ago I could go out and ride 16-18 MPH consistently on 40-50 mile rides. Going back say 7 years ago the MPH would be closer to 17-at times 18 mph.--
Now I can attest that anything over 16 MPH is considered pretty quick for sure. Many times now I am 14.5 to 16 mph tops. In the winter and colder I tend to say under 16 most of the time. Once summer hits I can get in the 16.5 to 17 mph but what I used to consider slow is now damn fast.
