Holy Mike Vandeman, batman....
Actually, I'm surprised to see any actions were actually taken against this
fellow putting branches across a trail.

P.S.: I'm glad Vandeman (sp?) has receded into obscurity and does not seem
to be annoying cyclists any more.

Not as receded as you may thing, see the comments on this article:

Oh! Thank-you for the post.

I scanned the article for Vandeman's name but did not see it...oops, re-read
your post and checked the comments....well bless his pointy little head!

It's kind of nice to see him again in the same way it's nice to see
Moriarty's name in a Sherlock Holmes story.

It says his post was from 2022 at 3 in the morning.

Following up my own post.
Here's a link to Mike showing what he looked like back in 2010 when his
brush with the law occurred...

Thanks, Jeff.
My, there's a *lot* of stuff there on his website. He's certainly dedicated
to his cause; I think he qualifies for "true believer" status.
Where is the dividing line between a true believer and a fanatic? I
would think that a true believer does not necessarily take action to
promote his beliefs, while the fanatic shoves his ideas down the
throat of anyone who might be listening.
I think the basic problem is that cycling involves sharing the road
and some people just haven't learned that their "right" to use a trail
ends where someone else's use of the same trail begins.
Oh well.
That's a deep subject.
