An article in an obscure paywalled leftist magazine isn't going to get
him much recognition.

Not really "obscure":
<https://deadline.com/2025/02/new-yorker-centenary-defies- magazine-downturn-1236296103/>
"The New Yorker with its 1.23 million subscribers..."

In the USA, they're rated as 21st, after The American Legion Magazine
and American Rifleman, both of which are also obscure..

Actually, all magazines are obscure, nowdays.

Sorry, forgot  the cite;

The Wikipedia circulation list is only up to date to 2016.  See the
"This article has multiple issues" box near the top of the page.

This list seems a little better:
"Top 100 U.S. Magazines by Circulation"
<http://www1.psaresearch.com/images/TOPMAGAZINES.pdf>
The New Yorker is 88 out of 100.  Not great, but hardly obscure.
>
1.3 million subscribers doesn't even pay for the printing costs. Who is paying the writers?
>
Advertising and contributions usually pay most of the bills.

<https://advertisers.mediaradar.com/the-new-yorker-advertising-profile>
"The New Yorker is part of Advance Publications Inc.. They spent under
$100 million on advertising in digital and print in the last year.
They invest in premium ad units and advertised on over 50 different
Media Properties in the last year across multiple Media formats. The
New Yorker launched and advertised 6 new products in the past twelve
months.  We have 11 people on file in marketing roles at The New
Yorker, and 1 at their agency."
>
The New Yorker print circulation is 1.3 million magazines.
725,000 are paid printed subscriptions.
548,000 are paid digital subscriptions.
There is some overlap because some subscribers get both digital and
priinted subscriptions.  There are also a small number that get
complimentary subscriptions.

<https://www.glassdoor.com/Salary/The-New-Yorker-Freelance-Writer- Salaries-E1418343_D_KO15,31.htm>
"The estimated average salary for a Freelance Writer at The New Yorker
is $82,604 per year or $40 per hour, but some professionals have
reported earning up to roughly $139,632 per year (90th percentile).
The typical pay range is between $63,093 (25th percentile) and
$109,321 (75th percentile) annually."

Why don't you send this to the New Yorker, Maybe they will give you a job as chief assistant propagandist.
You might be interested in actually finding out what propaganda is first. Hint: what jeff wrote isn't propaganda (It's telling that you seem to think facts are propaganda).

It there is something you don't know about, it is sure to be something you tell everyone about. Would you kike to place a bet on whether the New Yorker will be in business in 5 years?
I'd also like to bet that that million dollar invest you claim to have is still only worth a million dollars in the next 5 years - the same as it has been for the past 5.

After all - you are absolutely sure that 1.3 million subscribers are worth multimillions from advertisers.
Apparently so is the New Yorker and Conde Naste. Why don't you take that "senior business consultant" skillset you somehow acquired with no college background (while you were designing medical electronics, building things for the space shuttle and "reading out" three libraries) and and tell them what they're doing wrong? If they _were_ going to fold in 5 years, that would certainly seal the deal.

>
I have said that you have made every important decision in your life wrong and something as simple as numbers of subscribers and running costs baffles you.
ok, mr "business consultant", If you seem to have some sort of innate understanding of the magazine business, run some quick numbers here showing the number of ads and the cost per ad that would be necessary for the New Yorker to be profitable, and then prove they aren't meeting the required revenue to meet profitability.
Have you figured out how Zwift can calculate Crr and CdA for accurate simulations yet?
