It was well before my head injury so that would have put it sometimme in the early 2000's.

Strava was founded in Sweden in 2009, dumbass. It wasn't released in the US until 2010.

I never minded fast riders disappearing up the road, I just didn't like my rides being specifically chosen for comparison by people 40 years younger than me.

Strava doesn't work like that, it never did. It will list every person that rides a defined segment unless the user lists the ride as private. Nothing is "specifically chosen".

But who knows, maybe it was a compliment. I was pretty sensitive about my riding after the poison gas incident.

 

Not buying it. If you had been injured in a poison gas incident as a civilian working for the military, you would have been hounded by personal injury lawyers and ended up with a rather substantial settlement - unless it was entirely your fault, even then there would have been a settlement to some extent. Since we've never heard about any settlement, it's safe to assume you're making up more tall tales.
