My dad gave me a decent size hip roof toolbox many years ago. It had 6 trays. Three on each side. I've never seen one like it since. I can't remember the name, but it was quite heavy duty. Heavier than most toolboxes available today. For atleast a few years it contained most of the tools I owned, until one day it was stolen out of my truck. My fault I know. Never leave anything in your open truck bed you want to keep unless its guarded by rabid attack dogs.
I see a lot of 4 tray hip roof boxes like this one, but I have not seen any 6 tray ones like the one I had.

I'm on a quest to find a suitable replacement for the disintegrating plastic of my current mechanic set truck toolbox. Its a great set my wife gave me for Christmas several years ago. Really a decent mechanics starter tool set, but I've left it out of the truck the last year because the plastic is literally just falling apart. I'm looking for something I can transfer it into that will still just fit in the cross bed box.
