This is a very useful tool for trial assembly before riveting.

They are especially good in blind holes or ones where the back side can be reached for a nut but not seen, like auto body repair. The cheaper alternative is number 5 hardware of 1/8" diameter. I use Clecos where I'm actively working and #5s elsewhere. Temporary assembly with these lets you fit the joints and then disassemble the project for cleanup and painting.
