You didn't offend me, I describe what I know best, which is low volume custom work, perhaps relevant to a hobbyist. I haven't done enough production machining to comment on it.

What is the insert? Maybe there's hope for using it on my leather belt antique South Bend. So far except for the GTN-2 cutoff insert of unknown make they have all quickly chipped. I get away with HSS only because it doesn't need to hold size very long.
