I have a similar problem that may end up looking like yours. The sawmill blade guide rollers are 2" cylinders with R8 bearings recessed into each side. The bearings press in with light to moderate pressure and are retained by the center bolt and a spacer between the inner races.
The less-than-$1 import bearings I bought don't hold up too well at the 50~60 MPH blade speed, sawdust spray and varying and unmeasurable blade pressure, so they need to be replaceable. Some come out without much fuss, others need persuasion that's difficult to apply.
I'm considering angled tapped holes that let a screw press on the outer race from its back side. My BS-0 indexer is too tall for the Clausing mill when turned upright, so right now the likely candidate setup is a small 3-jaw on a Morse #2 arbor in my rotary table. The chuck could hold a bearing to align the drill with the outer race plus a second bearing above it on the spacer and a shaft to set the table tilt for clearance, then hold the roller in the same alignment by the bearing recess. Mickey Mouse is alive and well and living in my basement.
I worked with a real Mickey Mouse once, he had played the character in Orlando. He was a skilled craftsman.
