In the morning I go in for long awaited back surgery. Been an issue
for about 20 years but I finally decided to have something done about
it. First saw the specialist/surgeon in early May and he offered me a
June slot - but I was scheduled for a month of Safari with my Daughter
in Zambia over June/July - August was no good since I was booked for
Alaska in September - so he booked me for October 23 - then I came
down with Covid on my return from Alaska so my Oct 14 pre-op got
cancelled and I was rebooked for Nov 28. Last week I got the word I
was rebooked for Oct 31 - so that's tomorrow. O'll be out of
commission for at least 6 weeks but hopefully when it's all over the
problems will be fixed. L5-S1 fusion.

I am back home recovering.Pain level is up and down but manageable
with extra strength Tylenol. I've been walking around the house, going
up and downstairs, and out for a 17 minute walk in our balmy 20
degreeC November weather. 6 weeks Of BLT restrictions - no Bend. Lift,
or Twist
Already seeing improvement - numbness in leg and buttock pain is GONE.
I've been doing some light sit-down repairs - fixed my
eyeglasses, which required fixing my lighted magnifier - working on
repairing the switch on a friend's hair dryer as I sit here at the
computer. I've done some phone consulting - got the Lambo Espada
running on it's own - a couple switches to check out which the owner
will drop off for me one of these days. I managed to get most od the
wiring sorted and the dash mostly re-assembled before I went under the
knife.
I think it;s going to be a long 6 weeks - and the six after that as
well ------
Glad to hear it. I always hope for this sort of thing to result in "better" than it was. Sounds like it is.
