Our weather has definitely taken a nosedive over the
last 2 weeks or so. Somewhat chillier in the daytime
than is normal for us along with even chillier nights.
Last night we were down to 26°F (-3.33°C) 🥶 and I'd
made up my mind earlier in the week when I strip the
bed today the comforter would be joining the blanket
and lightweight quilt on my bed.

Anybody else been piling blankets and quilts on their
bed in the last few day?? Ed & Jill, you can tell us
you've been running the a/c as you sweat just reading
this post.

I'm due to put my Pendleton shirt quilt on the bed, soon. It's a three
minute job, so I've been putting it off.
Quilting used to be big in Hawaii but people that quilt, like my aunts,
are dying out. I can't say how the Hawaiians got into quilting. They
probably learned it from the missionary. Those guys didn't care for the
Hawaiian gods, or chanting, or dancing, or the lack of clothing, or the
Hawaiians having sex - so what else are you going to do? Quilting, of
course.
The last Queen of Hawaii was a quilter, among other things. The quilt
she made while she was imprisoned following the overthrow of her kingdom
is rather disturbing. That's understandable, she did it while waiting
for the President of the United States to assist her in getting back on
the throne. It was help that never arrived.
