New cast iron is basically Lodge, without many other options.  I always see Lodge cast iron sold individually.  New pieces are more rough and heavy than the good old brands, for whatever reason.  I'd be surprised if Lodge is even made in North America anymore.
I had to google to make sure it is still made in the US but I recently saw a tv show that featured the Lodge plant and it was in the US.  The site Mr. Google found for me indicated that the cast iron pans are made in South Pittsburg. Their enameled pans are made in China.
In the 60s, a UK paper analysed Le Creuset glazes and found unacceptable
levels of molybdenum, cobalt and other elements. Overnight, Le Creuset
changed all of their glaze recipes.
I doubt the Chinese give two hoots!!!
