My husband and I now hold Powers of Attorney for each
other, (with our sons as back up). Enables us to manage
the other partner's care, medical treatment and finances
if they lose capacity. We recently updated our Wills and
re-arranged our financial assets. Plus, we both have
detailed Medical Directives in place.
These are sensible financial and welfare protections
undertaken by older people with large assets.
