Buy small cans or share it. When opened though, it does not keep
un-refrigerated.

Storage:
Once you open a can of meat, it's best to transfer the unused portion to
a food-grade glass or plastic container for better flavor and quality.
Refrigeration:
Store the opened can or container of meat in the refrigerator to
maintain its safety and freshness.
Shelf Life:
Canned meat, once opened, should be consumed within 3 to 4 days when
refrigerated.
most canned items are not in huge portions, i can't imagine
not eating a whole can of sardines or tuna, there's just not
that much there (but it is a perfect quantity for me). same
with something like canned spaghetti's, etc. i just eat the
whole thing (often right from the can). canned stews and
soups (not enough to most soups these days that i bother with
them - i much prefer canned pastas or things like stews and
thick chowders).
it is a quick meal, i don't care about fancy presentation,
fuel for the fire and i'm often in the middle of something
and i don't want to be distracted by heating or prep.
my reasons for this are that it is a lot of work for me to
get going on some projects (switching contexts takes me a lot
of overhead) so getting away from the project for anything
other a few moments it takes me to open a can and eat some-
thing is not desired at all. faster gotten, opened and eaten
the better.
my current big bowl of chili is perfect food, a good mix
of vegetables, some meat and plenty of flavor. takes a few
moments to scoop into a bowl and then 2 minutes or less to
warm up enough to eat it. i may also eat a few spoons of it
cold because i like it either way (other than frozen, that's
too cold on my teefers).
