I don't buy cheap ice cream, life is too short... so get the best you
can as it's an affordable "small luxury"...

You are a wise man! When I buy ice cream, I either go to a special ice cream
shop for some nice italian style ice cream.
I might sometimes, for the nostalgia, buy a standard quality, superstore ice
cream that has existed for 40 years or so. It's alright, cheap, but the extra
falvour of childhood nostalgia is hard for competitors to copy. =)
