I am semi ambidextrous. I do a number of things left handed. Over the last year or so I have been working at writing left handed. I try to do at least half of my daily crossword left handed.
I think being a lefty is is easier for may of us to do some function right handed because we learned from watching and using things made for right had use. Swinging a baseball bat or golf club, I just did it the same way everyone else did.
