I love that guy, dammit! I was thinking of putting together a Telecaster
with a single P-90 in the bridge. I did get a pickguard but the guy in
China never bothered to send me a body. That's okay. I'll just stick two
P-90s into a short-scale, cheap-ass, Glarry Mustang clone. That might be
a fun guitar - maybe.

The single pickup, student models are trendy these days. OTOH, I suppose
it doesn't really matter much what guitar you play - it's all good. Or,
good enough anyway.

Digging the early Jazzmaster.
A strange thing happened today. There was an amp and a guitar in the
back of the car. My daughter said somebody didn't want it. The guitar
was a Starcaster. It's a Chinese made Strat copy sold by Fender. That's
so weird. When I tried it in the back of the car, it felt like a dirt
cheap junk that needed a lot of work.
They also do a very attractive thinline semi-hollowbody model:
https://guitarpoint.de/product/1975-fender-starcaster-natural-flamed/When I got a chance to check it out at home, the neck needed to be
shimmed a bit. I used a .25° shim and hit it spot on. The neck just
feels perfect. I thought it would have to have the nut adjusted but it
was right on too. Amazing - the neck feels great. Playing through a bass
amp, the pickups sound just beautiful. The E and the A strings sound
dead but the rusty and crusty treble strings sound wonderful. The amp is
a Fender Mustang LT-50 modeling amp that looks new.
Double score!
We also test drove a Transit Connect cargo van that we'll probably buy.
Maybe I can keep the amp and guitar in the back and do some playing
while on the road. I wonder if the guitar would fit on the racks? It
could work. All in all, today was a pretty good day.

I am in Accord with your Transit plans.
