It's not been above freezing all week here and tonight's
predicted low is 17°F (-8.33°C). Four to seven inches
of snow is predicted for Friday. 😒

Sounds similar to here and snow due Friday/Saturday. Stores are
getting clobbered as people panic. We made a super fast trip too
but it's our normal shopping day.

2 18packs of eggs (normal, we eat a lot of eggs), 1 Kayem sausage
and 1 Kayem hot dog pack, sugar, 5lbs flour, and birdseed as the
birds have been insane. I've had lines of Cardinals and Bluebirds
waiting their turn and mine feeds 6 at once! Stray other birds too.

Why are people panicing? Is it the first time the temperatures in the
area are that low?
Just mention snow around some places and it happens. Hurricane too.
It should be fairly obvious from Joan's post about "mad house grocery shopping" on 1/9. People freak out if there is a mere prediction of snow or any sort of storm. It's pretty stupid. Keep a good stock of pantry staples and household goods on hand; no need to panic due to a weather report.
