I wouldn't know about any of that stuff. Hawaiians typically have a two
income household. That's just the way things go here. Back in the 70's,
we worked for about 5 bucks an hour each. We were able to pay rent, buy
food, and have cable TV on such paltry earnings.
Hawaii's plantation history made us the most woke state of the union.
Health insurance was provided by the employer for full time workers. The
State of Hawaii is our biggest employer. Unions are strong here.
Anything that adds parity between workers and bosses is always a good
thing. I'm not saying that Hawaii is a worker's paradise. Life is kind
of tough here. In spite of that, Hawaii is among the healthiest and
happiest states in America. That's just the way things go here.
