>This reminds me of an incident when we were visiting my best friends>
parents and my almost 5 year old son was fascinated by Nazis after
watching an Indiana Jones movie. The kid suddenly blurted out "I
wish I
could have met Hitler". She said she had met Hitler. He asked what he
was like. She answered "He was a stupid man who destroyed our
country".
I have met a couple of patients that said they knew Hitler and that he
was actually a nice guy. These were big German women and as patients,
were on the difficult side. They were also bat-shit crazy. Meeting old
time Hitler lovers was always an interesting experience.
These women were obviously big Übermenschen. Had they been little
Asian Untermenschen, they wouldn't have liked him so much.
German is such an unpleasant language.
Unpleasant? How so?
German is the language of domination and aggression.
The language or the people? The have a reputation for having a martial
society and being aggressive. So do many others. The English had an
empire that spanned the globe. The Scandinavians are usually considered
peace loving, but the English are mostly descendants of Danes and
Vikings. Spanish is one of the romance languages but the Spanish were
pretty brutal in the empire building. More recently we have seen a lot
of violence and harsh language from China, Japan and Korea.
