Double Smash Cheeseburger with Special Sauce 🍔🧀
Ingredients:
For the Beef Patties:
1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
Salt and pepper, to taste
8 slices American cheese
For the Special Sauce:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp pickle relish
1 tsp mustard
1 tsp white vinegar
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Burger Assembly:
4 sesame seed burger buns
1 tbsp butter, melted (for buns)
Lettuce, shredded (optional)
Pickles, sliced (optional)
Instructions:
Make the Special Sauce: Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, pickle relish,
mustard, and vinegar in a bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste. Set
aside.
Prepare the Patties: Divide the ground beef into 8 small balls. Heat a
cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Place the beef balls on the
skillet and smash them down into thin patties using a spatula. Season
with salt and pepper.
Cook patties for about 2-3 minutes on each side. After flipping, place
a slice of cheese on each patty and let it melt. Stack two patties
together to create a double cheeseburger.
Toast the Buns: Brush the insides of the buns with melted butter and
toast them on the skillet until golden brown.
Assemble the Burger:
Spread special sauce on the bottom bun.
Add lettuce and pickles, if desired.
Place the double-stacked cheesy patties on top.
Spread more special sauce on the top bun, then close the burger.
Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes:
Use a mix of American and cheddar cheese for a deeper flavor.
Add caramelized onions for extra sweetness and texture.
