I think the store manager was slightly taken aback. LOL And yes, the steaks and baked potatoes were much better than turkey. :)On 10/28/2024 6:56 PM, Dave Smith wrote:Holy cow. I would say tat store messed up big time. Good for your mother to demand and get her money back. Frankly, I would say you came out ahead with the steaks. Much better than turkey.I think that would call for a Chinese take out.Or, the time many years ago when my brother and I were still teens... my mother saw an ad in the newspaper: "Let Kroger [grocery store] do it for you!" Turkey, side dishes, a pumpkin pie. So she ordered it to pick it up on Thanksgiving day. We all expected it to be fully cooked based on the ad, just need reheating. When we went to pick it up (my brother and I went with her) everything was still frozen solid. The turkey, the sides. She got angry. Marched back into the store and demanded to see the manager. She said something like "Did you really expect anyone to be able to thaw this and have it for Thanksgiving dinner on the same day we picked it up?" Demanded and got her money back. We went to a different grocery store and she bought some steaks and potatoes and we had steak & baked potatoes for Thanksgiving dinner that year.
