Speaking of a US trip, is it safe an convenient to travel with Amtrak? I
saw a documentary about the Crescent train

that goes from New Orleans to New York, and I would assume, from New

Bus service at times in substitution.
And the interior of even a top Amtrak roomette is old and spartan and full of squeaks and rattles. And here I thought beautiful, aged, wood interior, roomy and comfortable, and very well insulated to block any outside noise. =(
On the positive side the train personnel (mostly all black) are top notch, friendly, helpful and take their careers seriously.Very good! I find that black people are much better at customer service than white people! =)

like to go fishing in Florida but I also would like to eat steak in
Texas! Hmm... choices, so many choices. =(
Just bring a flexible schedule and lots of atience and on any gven day you should be fine.
