Sometimes, the husband will answer the question for the wife. I rarely
see a wife do this. I'll ask one more dumb question to see if the
husband can figure out what I'm doing. They never do. You're one of
those guys. I'm just testing for hearing comprehension but I get a good
indication of the dynamics of the relationship between husband and wife.
Shy Japanese and Korean girls tend to do that. They may be ashamed of
their teeth. It shows a disposition of modesty. The women will sometimes
do that when they're eating. Men don't typically do that. My guess is
that in the future, women will be less likely to do that but men might
start to do that more.
