Yes, I've been to a clambake. David likes to insinuate a lot of things
about "mainlanders" but he doesn't really know what he's talking about.

You act like mainlanders clambake every day. That's just so silly.
Oh Bullshit. It was more about how common it is to have pig roasts in Hawaii. Sure the happen ... sometimes.
No, they are a very regular even daily constant there, be it resort or restaurant.

You can go to a Luau at Paradise Cove and they do the pig roast ceremony, it's the best one we have ever been to! You can go early and walk around, see entertainment, get a wash off tattoo and other things going on, you can get 2 drinks free and then pay if you want more! Their food is great, their entertainment is really good!

There are SO MANY places. The one I wish we had gone to was at the Polynesian Center. It's starts from removing the pig from the ground (where it has cooked all day under a tarp and palm leaves) to serving, to the dancing....
We did the Pig Roast at Waikiki Beach and we ended up in a buffet line with show of dancers and singers. Although, the performers were good - I wish I had gone to the one at the Polynesian Center - it just seemed to be the 'real deal'. Have a GREAT TIME!!!!

I enjoyed the luau at Paradise Cove . At the luau there they have the whole pig that they roasted in the ground, yummy. The food is very good.
If you need more information, you can check with your hotel where you can book the tours for luau & other excursions through your concierge. Enjoy.

I don't know the answer to that but if you ask the concierge of your hotel or probably any Taxi Driver they could tell you
Some mainlanders to clambakes .... occasionally.
True, it is not a cultural icon at resorts in the US mainland.
Case closed.
Go sniff some handicap permits out.
