My Thanksgiving ham is in the oven as I write;
actually, it's been in there for almost an hour.
I gave it a generous shake of ground cloves
instead of studding it plus a ton of brown sugar.
Then almost a full bottle of apple juice. It's
a big boy so he got plenty of seasoning and juice.

In about an hour I'll take a look at him and see
if he would like a bit of basting. He's in for
a long and low temperature in the oven as he has
no where he has to be until Thursday afternoon.
Today I've made mashed pertaters, cornbread dressing, dinner rolls, and
in the slow cooker right now is my cran relish:
- One pound fresh crans, two seedless navel oranges chopped (including
skin), walnuts, sugar, and a big GLUG of brandy...
Tomorrow I will make green bean casserole with Margaret Holmes flat
Italian beans... I LOVE Margaret Holmes canned southern veg, it's at
Walmart...
I am doing pork sirloin roast for tomorrow... I don't especially care
for turkey...
Dessert will be pecan pie with nilla ice cream...
Saturday I will be meeting up with old HS pals at their son's place here
for their T - Day fest, have not decided what I will take...
Happy TURKEY LURKEY Day, Joan - wishing you the BEST, and we have a LOT
to be thankful for... and I am grateful that you post here, too...!!!
