I love that guy, dammit! I was thinking of putting together a Telecaster
with a single P-90 in the bridge. I did get a pickguard but the guy in
China never bothered to send me a body. That's okay. I'll just stick two
P-90s into a short-scale, cheap-ass, Glarry Mustang clone. That might be
a fun guitar - maybe.

The pickups on my Blueshawk are a variation on the P-90, called Blues-90.

Had one of these unloved tweener beauties in natural, came to me with significant belt buckle rash, sold later at a profit, but so rare now it should have been kept.

I really should get rid of all of my guitars other than the Blueshawk and my 12-string, which is one of these.

Well it's not a Rick, but neither is the pricing!

The neck looks far easier to play, the 360-12 is a heavy fretted and over-lacquered beast. In certain climates that fret lacquer will eventually bubble...

It's very unlikely I'd ever be in a band again.

Not Mott.

That's not a very good version. The one on RnR Animal is killer.
It's more energetic for sure.
As far as studio versions go, I prefer the MtH cover. Lou Reed was a genius. If he had done absolutely nothing other than Transformer, that would still be the case, but my god the guy was lazy and full of himself.
100%!
I saw him in 1978, the Street Hassle tour, and he pretty much sucked, but the opening act, Ian Dury and the Blockheads, were worth more than the price of the ticket.
The only Lou Reed albums that are good in their entirety are the first two VU, Transformer, RnR Animal and Lou Reed Live.
LRL is his best, imo.
I'll post a bit of my book because Princess Jill hates that. The book alludes to both Lou Reed and Mott the Hoople.

As Winter began kissing her toes, Ann said, "No one's ever kissed my feet."
Winter stopped only for long enough to say, "Welcome to my world." After ten minutes or so, she switched feet, and in the transition said, "There's probably going to be a lot of places kissed for the first time today, and the first shall not be the last."
.
"What do you mean by that?"
.
"I mean that I want to kiss you again tomorrow. Relax, and let me love on you."
.
Many hours later, they both lay on their backs, exhausted. Ann's world had been transformed since colliding with Winter's just that morning, and she mused aloud, "I wonder when I'm going to wake up."
.
"If you'd like," Winter suggested, "in the morning, with me next to you."
.
"I was kidding, but this has been the most perfect day I can remember."
.
"There's a love song called Perfect Day."

That's actually quite loverly.
