Converted to fat, yup. It's said all the time, Americans on average
consume more meat than USDA recommends.
"A balanced meal often comes down to getting your portions right. As a
simple rule, fill half your plate with veges, one-quarter with protein
(lean meat, chicken, fish, tofu), and one-quarter with carbs like
potato, pasta or rice. Ideally, a raw serving of meat should be no more
than the size and thickness of your palm." (From USDA web site).
Keto not recommended for several reasons, among them is it's not heart
healthy and leaves gaps in vitamins and minerals. About 600g per day
seems the target. A single egg has 56g.
Generally we mess up with dinner. Not enough veggies. They should be
50% of the plate. If your meat serving for dinner is more than 4oz,
you probably are over because of lunch and breakfast. Low-carb/Keto
folks try to say they can eat more meat to make up for the missing
carbs.
Now songbird may be over too because beans count! But it's a 'healthy'
over and counts also as a fast energy starch.
It's a sort of 'everything in moderation' that works best to maintain
proper health. Cheating (in moderation) is fine! Cheating is good for
the soul (grin).
