That could be and they were probably very expensive many years ago.

places. Out here, it never gets freezing or too hot. OTOH, The last
battery I replaced lasted a couple of years. Rather than have the
mechanic replace it under warranty for a hundred bucks or so, I bought
one from Sam's Club. I felt the need to get off of the battery
merry-go-round. Maybe to get a really good battery, you have to spend
$200 or more. Oh well.
