Saturday night, my life changed. Our U-Verse DVR went out, and I lost
all my taped programs and the ability to tape, pause and fast-forward
any shows, on any TV. The satellite U-Verse TV still worked, barely.
I had to start fooling with the paradigm and remotes provided by Hulu,
Apple+, Netflix, Paramount+, Roku, Samsung, etcetera. I never bothered
to do that before. It sucks, but I learned a little.
Today, an AT&T tech showed up and reminded me that U-Verse is
unsupported
technology, but he'd see what he had in his truck. What he had, after
some serious monkeying with my system, worked.
I'm back, Baby!
None of your remotes can be programmed to operate everything??
But glad the AT&T guy got you back up and running again.
Sling TV announced a week ago unlimited storage, BUT any
movies will only be stored for nine (9) months. GRRRRRRRR
This is why this dinosaur still buys DVDs.

Welp, I've got a very nice collection of about 400 (mainly) Blu - rays
of classics, many from premium labels such as Criterion, etcetera...

They've been packed away for several years now as I watch everything via
streaming, e.g. Amazon Prime, etc...

You are welcome to bring up a truck to get them, as they need a nice
home... :-D

I recently sprang for a YouTube Premium membership, two months free, and
then $13.95/month. Worth it, as NO more pesky ads...
Whoa!!! Hold on there cowboy.... did you realize that you are paying 1674 USD over 10 years assuming the price stays the same?
Instead of doing that... why don't you just rip your DVD:s, and watch them for free, when ever you like? You can build a little kodi-system, and exactly replicate the Netflix experience. =)
When the internet goes down, my house will be the only house (well, except for my business partners) where we still can enjoy music and video, because we have our own local solutions!
I watch many podcasts, etc., so well worth the reasonable fee...
