Unfortunately, it was the Brits that invented self-rising flour. Well,
that's if you insist on calling selling flour with baking powder and
salt already in it an "invention."
It must be an invention. People buy it. I don't. I guess the big trick
was to get people to publish recipes that called for it. Instead of
adding a little baking powder to flour a lot of people will go out and
pay more for the self rising flour.
