My TV problem sent me to a guy in India. I can't hear very well, and he
had an accent. He was a nice guy, and we spent and hour and a half
together while I monkeyed with the system due to necessary protocols.
Then he said what I already knew I needed, "I'm going to send a tech out".

accidentally it with the weed wacker. He insisted I go through all
kinds of diagnostics. When I turned on the diagnostics is said no
signal. He had me select and another satellite and a make a couple other
changes. I had to disconnect the power and restart it a couple times.
Finally after about a half hour he said he would send a technician. The
technician came the next day. I told him what the problem was and took
him over and showed him the sliced cable. He spliced it and then checked
the signal and it was done. I spent more time indulging the telephone
support guy that it took the technician to repair it.
